Voted the UK’s top modern university (QS World University Rankings), Oxford Brookes University is a campus university located in the beautiful and historic city of Oxford. There are three campuses that are part of the university, linked by the free BROOKESbus. The Student Union and the many societies on campus help to build the close-knit but diverse community Brookes is known for. Oxford was ranked in the top 100 universities in the UK (Complete University Guide 2020) moving up 15 spots from 2019.

There is a range of student support available at Oxford Brookes. There is a dedicated team whose job it is to ensure students feel safe and supported across all three sites.
Academic Support
International students are assigned a dedicated member of teaching staff for help and guidance through the academic process. There is additional English development and study skills support available alongside the degree programme for all international students, so they can make the most of their academic experience at university. In addition, there are extra online resources and workshops to help give students the academic support they need.
Personal Support
The International Student Advice Team can help with a range of issues, from visa status to personal finance and more. They also run social events to help international students connect with each other and the wider university community, as well helping them to explore Oxford and other parts of the UK.
Counselling
There is a dedicated counselling service for any issues that might arise, and they can provide resources, group workshops and talks as well as one-to-one sessions.
Global Buddies
This scheme partners international students with a current UK student to help international students to settle in.
Student Safety
Oxford was voted the 6th safest university city in the UK (Complete University Guide 2017), so is a very safe environment for students. Students are part of a campus community, but are also in the heart of a vibrant, exciting and safe city, perfect for exploring.
Living in university accommodation can also make students feel safer. Each hall of residence has an on-site residence manager and supervisors who are able to help throughout the day and night.
There is also a security team who operate across the university, with both an urgent and non-urgent number for student enquiries 24 hours a day.
