Awarded Gold, the highest rating, in the UK Government’s Teaching Excellence Framework*, Kent has a global reputation – three of Kent’s subject areas are ranked within the world top 100 in the 2018 QS World University Rankings by Subject, with a further eight subjects in the top 200.
With a great student to staff ratio of 12.4:1 and a planned £197m investment in facilities and resources until 2020-21, Kent is a favourite destination amongst international students for its wide range of prestigious degrees, scenic study locations and exciting work opportunities.

Set in stunning locations close to London, the green parkland of the Canterbury campus and the historic water-side campus in Medway create a welcoming environment. Students can soak up the international atmosphere by taking part in Worldfest, Europe Day, Holi, Thanksgiving and Chinese New Year celebrations, or set up their own events. Additionally, there are four specialist postgraduate centres to explore in Brussels, Paris, Rome and Athens.
With bursaries, scholarships, grants and awards of £7.1m for undergraduates and £13.6m for postgraduates given out in 2015-16, Kent offers dedicated support and generous funding for international students.
With world renowned alumni such as acclaimed novelist Kazuo Ishiguro, the 2017 Nobel Prize for Literature winner who studied BA English and Philosophy at Kent, students will be inspired to pursue and achieve their ambitions.
Having just won the Outstanding Support for Students award at the 2017 Times Higher Education (THE) Awards for its Student Success Project, Kent is delighted to be recognised as a brilliant UK university that helps students live, work and study to the maximum.
