Established in 1947, the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS), affiliated to the University of London and a member-institute of the School of Advanced Study was originally set up as a national academic institution. IALS is a postgraduate legal research institute with a core of researchers, research students and legal information professionals. The campus is centrally located in London with good transport links.
