About
Manukau Institute of Technology
Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) is a leading provider of technical and vocational education, based in one of the world’s most liveable cities.
Auckland, New Zealand, provides a great backdrop for the work-based learning that students are able to benefit from at Manukau Institute of Technology.
A mix of stunning coastline and busy urban centres make Auckland a unique and exciting city, which is also the most multi-cultural in New Zealand. Students at Manukau Institute of Technology study at five campuses across the city, each located right amongst the industry and networks from which students can benefit.
Students can access MIT’s safe and sociable student village, which accommodates students who come from outside the Auckland area. The student village offers a modern, friendly and affordable site just a short walk from the main north and south campuses in Otara.
The New Zealand Qualification Authority placed MIT in Category One, the highest category, in their latest review back in 2016.
The institution offers a wide range of courses from certificate to degree and graduate diploma levels; with a balance of theory and applied learning in modern, specialist facilities.
There are nine different schools, each covering more specific subjects within their fields. These schools cover business, consumer services, creative arts, digital technologies, education and social sciences, engineering and trades, health and counselling, and lots more.
Manukau Institute of Technology welcomes around 20,000 students each academic year, nearly 2,000 of which are international students – which creates a diverse and welcoming atmosphere on campus.
