About
Mohawk College
Mohawk College is one of the largest public colleges in Ontario, Canada and boasts a vibrant international population.
Based in the beautiful city of Hamilton on the shores of Lake Ontario, Mohawk College welcomes around 13,000 students each academic year - including more than 3,000 international students from over 80 different countries. Located only 45 minutes from Toronto, students receive a dynamic and exciting learning experience with more than 100 programs available to international students including certificates, diplomas, degree pathways and apprenticeships.
Mohawk specializes in program areas such as healthcare, technology, business, skilled trades, community services and communication arts as well as other subjects. Mohawk College places a focus on work-based learning and provides students with real-world experiences thanks to numerous co-op programs with partnered companies, as well as excellent, stimulating learning facilities that have recently undergone dramatic renovation. It aims to create employable graduates, with their 2017/18 Graduate KPI Outcomes Survey showing 88.6% graduate employment rates, higher than the provincial average.
Mohawk College actively encourages the participation of international students in campus life, with inclusivity supported by dedicated staff, services and events for those arriving in Canada from overseas. Mohawk also offers popular English for Academic Purposes (EAP) ESL programs, which are popular with international students looking to progress to higher levels of study.
Students study across three campuses, all based in Hamilton, a city with a population of around half a million people, one in four of which are born outside Canada. It provides easy access to Toronto, Niagara Falls and Pearson International Airport, all of which are around 45 minutes away.
