About
Queensland University of Technology (QUT)
QUT was named as the top young university in the state of Queensland and 18th in the QS Top Universities Rankings for universities under 50 years old in 2018. With award-winning teaching staff, recognised by receiving 100 Australian Awards for University Teaching, it is easy to see why QUT has rapidly become a leading institution ‘Down Under’.
Known as a real-world university, QUT provides expansive industry links and courses designed to work in the field to which they relate with input from industry experts. Students get the chance to undertake work experience on real projects and are able to leave QUT with relevant, up-to-date skills to directly impact their working lives.
Based across two campuses – Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove – QUT enrols almost 50,000 students each year with nearly 8,000 international students. Students are spread across six schools – QUT Business School, Creative Industries, Education, Health, Law and Science and Engineering.
QUT has been the subject of significant investment in recent years to create state-of-the-art learning facilities, including an AUD230 million Science and Engineering Centre, a new AUD76.7 million Education Precinct which opened this year and an AUD80 million Creative Industries Precinct including recording facilities, galleries and editing suites.
The university offers a vibrant campus with over 100 student clubs and societies across a range of activities, whilst free workshops are put on to help students build their skills. A wide range of support services help international students with anything they may need and make QUT a friendly and exciting place to study.
