The major challenges confronting society are complex and interdisciplinary, and current solutions to today’s and tomorrow’s intractable problems are not working. This complexity requires a different type of professional; one who is equipped to work in a very different and collaborative way to find new solutions. Our Professional Doctorate programme will help you to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes required to fulfil this role. We are bringing together academic experts from across the University to provide you with interdisciplinary learning, teaching and research, thereby enabling you to transcend boundaries and lead applied research that will help you transform lives and tackle complex challenges in unique ways. You apply for a specific award, but you will be part of the overall community of Professional Doctorate students across the University You will participate in shared modules, but will benefit from supervisors who are experts in your chosen discipline area. Application deadline 26 March 2023 Eligibility requirements Eligibility The University of Dundee is pleased to announce the 2023/24 Humanitarian Scholarship. We welcome applications from applicants who: Hold an academic offer of entry for a postgraduate taught programme in any of our academic schools, beginning in September 2023. The programme must be a full 180 credit postgraduate taught course, on campus; Have Refugee or Asylum Status, or Humanitarian Protection as recognised by the 1951 UN Convention on the Status of Refugees. All fee status applicants are eligible: Scottish, RUK, EU, International. Selected candidates will receive the following; Full tuition fee waiver (if study is longer than 1 year, only first year will be funded) A monthly living stipend to cover living costs while in the UK A monthly allowance for accommodation in line with the University Accommodation amount Applicants can also choose to stay on campus or in private residence. The University of Dundee supports applications from all Chevening-eligible countries or territories. The University supports a one year taught master’s degree and applicants can choose from a wide range of subjects offered by our ten schools: Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design School of Business School of Dentistry School of Education and Social Work School of Health Sciences School of Humanities School of Life Sciences School of Medicine School of Science and Engineering School of Social Sciences To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship you must: Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory. Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended. Have completed all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a postgraduate programme at a UK university by the time you submit your application. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK but may be different depending on your course and university choice. Have at least two years (equivalent to 2,800 hours) of work experience.
