Intro Our Environmental Politics MRes examines environmental politics at the intersections of social justice and radical activism. You’ll learn with researchers who are analysing key issues including climate emergency and its responses, environmental risk, water resource management, biodiversity and rewilding, nature-people conflict, extractivism and energy supply. You’ll consider how environmental interventions and policies are designed, negotiated, disputed and implemented within government, the corporate sector and civil society. How this course is delivered We are designing your teaching timetable with the aim of maximising the time you spend on campus, with measures in place to make it as safe, enjoyable and social for everyone as possible. Every student will have timetabled in-person learning. This will vary by course and could include activities such as seminars and tutorials, workshops, studio time, clinical skills sessions and laboratory classes. Some of your timetabled learning will delivered online: for example, large lectures may be delivered online live and be made available as recordings. Careers The course intends to maximise both your personal and professional potential, and provides a foundation for careers in research, third sector organisations and environmental NGOs. The MRes provides a route to further study through a PhD. On course completion, you will be equipped with practical research-based training, plus the necessary transferable skills to prepare you for career progression.

For international students

Degree and experience: A 2:1 degree in a relevant subject. Students with a degree that does not fall within this category but who have significant relevant experience, will also be considered. All applicants should provide a full description of any research projects undertaken, relevant work experience and non-academic qualifications. English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each element. TOEFL iBT 85 overall, 18 in writing, 10 in reading, 10 in listening and 17 in speaking.
