For international students
You apply direct to the University. Our minimum academic requirement is a 2.1 honours degree (or above) in a subject with an acceptable level of human sciences, usually including biochemistry and physiology. If English isn’t your first language, we require evidence of IELTS Level 7 (or equivalent). No element should be below 6.5. Test of English as Foreign Language iBT (TOEFL) - listening 17, reading 18, writing 17 and speaking 20.

The campus has excellent sports facilities including a climbing wall and gym, but there’s also the local Albert Park, Hemlington Lake and Middlesbrough Sports Village, which helps Teesside University put wellbeing at the heart of student welfare.
With courses combining practical skills and hands on experience with excellent teaching (rated Silver by the new Teaching Excellence Framework), students are well prepared to convert their degree into the career they’re looking for.
In the centre of campus is the Students’ Union, where students can meet, join clubs and social activities, and enjoy the bar and nightclub on-site. These social spaces were accredited gold in the 2017 Best Bar None awards (recognising exceptional staff training and responsible practices in our licensed trade).
