Students are required to complete a minimum of ?30 in graduate-level coursework, including a ?6 capping project. Coursework (?24): MATH 509 MATH 572 STAT 513 STAT 537 STAT 541 Three ?3 courses chosen from the following: MATH 508 MATH 524 MATH 535 MATH 570 MATH 667 STAT 553 STAT 575 STAT 578 STAT 637 BIOL 570 Additional coursework may be required. Capping project (?6): MATH 900 A/B OR STAT 900 A/B Length of Program: The MSc program in Modeling, Data, and Predictions is designed to be completed in 16 months. The maximum time to complete the course-based MSc program as set by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research is six years.

For international students

For the MSc, the Department's minimum admission requirements are a four-year undergraduate degree with a strong background in mathematics, physics and/or statistics, with an admission GPA of at least 3.3 on the 4- point scale from the University of Alberta, or an equivalent qualification and standing from a recognized institution. English Language Requirement: a minimum TOEFL score of 100 (Internet-based) with a minimum score of 22 in each individual skill area, or equivalent; a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.0 on each band; a minimum PTE overall score of 68 with a minimum of 60 in each category
