Communities are complex entities with their own needs, structures and rules - and planners are the ones who guide their operation and promote their growth. Drawing on their understanding of land-use concepts and strategies, planners create and implement plans to develop and enhance regional, urban, suburban and rural communities. Ryerson graduates advise on planning decisions related to social, economic, cultural, land-development, transportation, resource development, environmental, heritage and other issues. This is a Grades-Only program. Students are evaluated on the basis of academic achievement/grades only. Additional non-academic requirements are not required for admission consideration.

For international students

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including some program specific requirements. Requirements for Two-Year Post Baccalaureate Program (Full-Time) Completion of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited English language university including a minimum of six liberal studies (liberal arts and sciences) courses. Requirements for Two-Year Degree Completion Program (Full-Time) Completion of the Urban and Regional Planning Technician - Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Diploma from Mohawk College or the GIS and Urban Planning Diploma from Fanshawe College with a minimum ‘B overall average. English language requirements: IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL: 92-93 Internet-based, CAEL score of 70 and PTE score of 60, Cambridge English - 180 and above on C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency. February 1 is the guaranteed consideration date for applications to all programs.
