Financial planning profession helps people and businesses to manage their financial affairs and meet their financial goals. Financial planners assist their clients to set their financial goals, prepare financial plans and implement recommendations. They provide advice on: cash flow and liability management; retirement, investment, tax and estate planning; and risk management and insurance planning. In this course, you will build technical skills to provide effective, holistic solutions to complex and unpredictable financial problems. You will also develop superior communication skills in order to understand your clients’ needs and communicate effectively, ethically and professionally with your clients. In your discipline units you will gain expertise in the fields of taxation, cash flow modelling, superannuation, insurance and investment planning to suit a diverse range of clients and contexts. In this course you will be first introduced to foundational concepts, theories and practices in finance, taxation law and superannuation and retirement planning. You will further build your knowledge and skills in insurance, risk, management and estate planning, financial services and law and personal financial planning. Throughout this course you take part in practical projects including completion of tax returns and analysis of complex capital budgeting problems, superannuation funds and financial regulation issues. Your final two units will focus on advanced investment and client relationship management and financial plan construction. QUT Excellence Scholarship (Creative Industries)

Value of scholarship

A scholarship valued at AUD $10,000 each. This scholarship will be paid as a study stipend of AUD $2,500 after the HECS-HELP census date of each semester for the first four semesters of your course (AUD $5,000 per year).

How to applay

There is no specific application process needed to be considered for this scholarship. All applicants who apply for an eligible course will be considered. You must complete a QTAC application and the individual audition or portfolio requirements as listed on each course page.

Requierments

You must be one of: an international student who has completed high school in Australia or Australian curriculum (or International Baccalaureate) overseas. You must also: be starting university for the first time in 2023 have placed one of the eligible Creative Industries courses as your first preference on your QTAC application. This scholarship is available for applicants who are applying for courses that have additional entry requirements like an audition or portfolio: Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance) Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music) Bachelor of Design (Fashion) Bachelor of Design International (Fashion) Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Design (Fashion) Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) Bachelor of Education (Secondary)/Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) Bachelor of Education (Secondary)/Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music) Bachelor of Education (Secondary)/Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance). If you're interested in a Creative Industries course that isn't eligible for this scholarship, you may be eligible for the QUT Excellence Scholarship (Academic) instead. You must: remain enrolled full-time maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 5.00 or higher in each semester.

A scholarship to cover 25% of your tuition fees for your first two semesters (one year) of study at QUT, provided you meet the minimum academic standards.

How to applay

You do not need to apply for this scholarship. We will assess your qualifications when you apply to study at QUT with an eligible course, and we will let you know if you meet the criteria.

Requierments

You must meet all the following requirements: completed a qualifying course with the required academic result meet minimum English language entry requirements for the degree program. If you complete a QUT pathway program for the purpose of satisfying QUT English language requirements, you may be eligible for this scholarship once you start your degree program receive an admission offer letter into one of the eligible courses offered by participating faculties. You're not eligible if: you receive another QUT academic scholarship. You'll receive either: a scholarship to cover 25% of your tuition fees for your first two semesters (one year) of study at QUT, provided you meet the minimum academic standards. available from all faculties. an ongoing scholarship to cover 25% of your tuition fees per semester of study at QUT, provided you meet the ongoing academic conditions for all eligible courses offered by: Faculty of Business and Law Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice Faculty of Engineering Faculty of Science. The ongoing scholarship is not available for courses offered by the Faculty of Health. Other benefits may include: scholarship award ceremony membership of the QUT College of Excellence.
