Commerce and Actuarial Science is a great combination and a great option if you have a passion for both areas and want to keep your career options open. This double degree enables you to study complementary subjects to further enhance your employability, and develop broad business skills and specialist knowledge in actuarial science. This course leads to two separate degrees: the Bachelor of Commerce, and the Bachelor of Actuarial Science. You will gain all the benefits of each degree course and be fully equipped to pursue a career in either field separately or to combine the two in your chosen work. Start of expanded content Your career options will depend on the combination of majors and minors that you choose, and will open up a diverse range of opportunities. Wherever your choices may lead, a degree in Commerce and another in Actuarial Science will give you versatile and transferable skills that are relevant to a number of industries. The combination will also give you the skills that employers are looking for, such as communication, teamwork, research, critical thinking and cultural sensitivity - and you'll be able to draw on cross disciplinary perspectives to thrive in a broad range of settings. Course structure Double degree courses include the features of the component degree courses, except that electives may be reduced. Commerce The Bachelor of Commerce is a comprehensive course, structured in three equal parts. In the double degree course you complete the following two parts: Part A. Commerce specified study Part B. Commerce listed major (excludes Actuarial Science) Actuarial Science The Bachelor of Actuarial Science is a specialist course that develops through the themes of foundation commerce knowledge, specialist discipline knowledge, capstone experience and elective breadth/depth study. For international students

At the time of enrolment in a course at Monash University, you must be at least 17 years of age. Commencing full-time in the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) (B3701) degree majoring in finance at a Monash University campus in Australia. To retain this scholarship: Recipients must maintain full-time enrolment. You must achieve an average score of 75 in the four Honours units in Semester 1 in order to receive their Semester 2 payment.

How to applay

Applications for Year 12 students are open 2 August - 8 October, submit a scholarship application through VTAC For current Monash students, applications are open 17 January - 4 March apply directly to Monash. Note: To be considered for this scholarship, you must have applied for a course and be offered a place at Monash. This scholarship cannot be deferred.

Requierments

You must meet the following criteria: A person who is in Australia and currently on: a Bridging Visa E, or a Bridging Visa A and has applied for a Permanent Protection visa, or a Temporary Protection Visa, or a Safe Haven Enterprise Visa. A commencing or continuing student enrolled or intending to enrol in any undergraduate degree in the Monash Business School at a Monash campus in Australia. To retain this scholarship: You must maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark of 50 or above each semester You can continue to receive the scholarship if your residency changes, however you will not be eligible to continue to receive tuition payments if you are changed to a Commonwealth Supported Place and are eligible to defer your fees, but you may continue to receive the allowance. You may be asked to provide an annual progress report to donors, giving you an opportunity to share your experiences and benefits.
