About
A modern and forward-thinking institution, Edith Cowan University (ECU) is a place for students from all over the world to develop into skilled and successful graduates. Established in 1991, the university is developing rapidly and has been named one of the world’s 150 best universities under 50 years old in the 2018 Times Higher Education Young University Rankings.
With two campuses in Perth (Joondalup and Mount Lawley) and one in Bunbury, south of Perth (South West Campus), around 6,000 international students head to the university each year. Perth is the capital city of Western Australia, and boasts some of the best weather in the whole of the country. Students can enjoy a thriving city as well as the many beaches, parks and forests nearby the university.
ECU has four main values which all of the university follows: integrity, respect, rational inquiry and personal excellence. These values help students and staff to work to the best of their abilities, but also to have a positive impact on the university community and environment. The university celebrates difference and diversity, and encourages all students to seek help whenever they might need it.
With plenty of clubs, societies and other academic and social organisations to join, ECU wants every one of its students to have an unforgettable and authentic Australian experience. Courses are tailored to meet industry needs and esteemed academic staff work hard to help students reach their aspirations. There are many study abroad and exchange programs as well as full course options, and the university hopes to inspire all kinds of international students to study at one of its eight innovative academic schools.
